Amsterdam University Press (AUP) was established in 1992 by the University of Amsterdam and was based on Anglo-Saxon publishing model. Within a few years this young and fast growing publishing firm has built up a publishing list of more than 700 titles among which 540 titles are available as E-books. The 180 scholarly and trade publications of AUP are available every year in Dutch or English and relate to subjects in the area of humanities and social sciences. AUP rencently aquired Leiden University Press and adds more titles into its current portfolio.
Areas of specialization
The books and journals that are published by Amsterdam University Press include more than 20 areas of specialization including language and literature, archaeology, cultural history, art and art history, film and media studies, sociology, political and policy sciences and Asian studies.
